The Balcón de Pilatos is one of the most impressive natural viewpoints in Navarre. Located in the heart of the Urbasa-Andia Natural Park, this stone balcony overlooks the magical valley of the River Urederra, offering breathtaking views. Balcón de Pilatos Urbasa: wild nature and endless panoramic views
This natural viewpoint is located in the eastern part of the Sierra de Urbasa, within the natural park of the same name. The Balcón de Pilatos in Urbasa is a vertical cliff face over 300 metres high above the Urederra valley, from where you can see much of Tierra Estella, the Lokiz and Andia mountain ranges and, on clear days, even the Pyrenees.
It is a prime spot for observing birds of prey such as griffon vultures, Egyptian vultures and peregrine falcons, and also for enjoying the contrast between the beech forests and the open sky from the viewpoint.
How to get to Balcón de Pilatos
To reach Balcón de Pilatos, the most common route is from the Ubaba car park, inside the Urbasa Natural Park. From there, a well-marked trail leads you to the viewpoint in about 15-20 minutes on foot. Another option is to take one of the trails that start from the Urbasa Palace area or from Baquedano, if you want to take a longer route.
